Job Seekers Network (JSN), a top 5 job club in the USA, is dedicated to providing comprehensive job search programs and emotional and spiritual support to unemployed adults in Greater Austin to support, equip, and enable them to find a better fitting job faster.

JSN is seeking a qualified administrative assistant who has strong administrative skills to join the JSN team on a part-time (10-20 hours per week) basis. Employees of JSN must be Christ followers and committed to growing in their spiritual walk. Primary skills needed will be Word, Excel, Internet, some PowerPoint and strong communication and writing skills. We are looking for applicants who are dedicated to working in a support role.

JOB TITLE / PAY: Part-time Administrative Assistant, $12-$15 per hour (depending upon experience)


  1. Increase participation and job seeker satisfaction in finding better fitting jobs through timely and effective communication and support:
  • Sending out weekly communication to job seekers
  • Updating website
  • Managing our LinkedIn groups
  • Responding to job seeker and general questions via email
  • Writing and sending bulletin blurbs to churches
  • Matching job seekers with job leads we receive
  • Managing registration and supporting workshops
  • Supporting Annual Career Connect (job fair & keynote speaker) registration, promotion, and program, and increasing and managing job fair participation
  1. Support increased fundraising by:
  • Connecting with and managing our alumni database
  • Capturing life change stories
  • Informing interested job seekers of education and training opportunities
  • Completing the Amplify Austin (Austin’s 24 hours of giving to the nonprofit community) application and promoting our participation
  • Identifying and follow-up with new and existing supporters and partners
  • Developing and maintaining a development and contact calendar
  1. Increase job seeker and coach effectiveness; and connections.
  • Managing the intake and returnee registration process
  • Setting up second hour groups and other Monday morning activities.


  • Excellent and persuasive written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively interact with the public professionally and with compassion, in person, over the phone and via written communication
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy are required
  • Excellent organizational skills are required
  • Intermediate proficiency in WORD (tables and columns, etc.), EXCEL (sorting, etc.) and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and to drive projects to completion
  • High level critical thinking and decision‐making skills
  • Results‐focused, positive attitude, relational, creative and flexible
  • Be a Christ-follower and member and active in a church
  • Passionate for making a difference in the spiritual life and careers of over 1,000 job seekers


  • Experience in performing administrative tasks on the computer is required (3+ years)
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, email, internet programs is required
  • Experience working on a CRM is preferred
  • Bachelor degree is preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit or church organizational culture preferred
  • Prior work with email marketing program and social media is preferred.
  • Experience working effectively, relationally and respectfully with staff, coaches, job seekers and public
  • Desire to use talents, time and abilities to serve the Lord in alignment with the JSN Vision.


Attend Job Seekers Network’s meetings on most Monday mornings (address below). Other hours for the job are mostly remote. This position is a 1099 contractor, there are no benefits, the person has to provide their own computer and office.

JSN is looking for someone who can make at least a one-year commitment.

Position supports the Executive Director and Director of Training & Communications.

JSN has a reputation for conducting its ministry and activities with integrity and in accordance with the highest ethical and Biblical standards. All volunteers and staff of JSN must be committed to the Lord Jesus Christ, in accordance with the Bible and with JSN’s Statement of Faith. The authority for making determination of these standards for JSN shall be the Executive Director working in consultation with the Board of Directors, applying their interpretation of the standards set forth in the Bible.
