Non-Profit Summer College Intern – emphasis on Social Media, Communications, Human Resources, and Training

 

Description

Dynamic, new Christian non-profit seeks Summer College Intern to help expand and improve our Social Media presence, methods of Communicating with Employers and our Training Programs for Job Seekers. Our job search group has a reputation of providing some of the best in class training on all areas of the job search and we also host weekly meetings where high level speakers share their wisdom and insights. We are expanding our presence and programs in the Austin area. We need a student with strong writing skills and the ability to put together procedures and processes to improve our program.

 

Responsibilities

  • Internet Marketing – weekly update of contacts and email via Constant Contact
  • Social Media –connect with members through Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook group
  • Internet research – for programs and planning
  • Presentation development
  • Posting Job leads on our LinkedIn Group
  • Develop list of relevant corporate recruiters and develop appropriate interaction – job posting, visits to meetings, etc.
  • Help with current and future training events
  • Help develop our first product we can sell by viewing videos, replicating CD/DVD, and developing the marketing and sales process for the products

 

Through this internship, the students will observe and learn ministry flow and processes, observe and learn cutting edge job search methods, and gain exposure to Austin’s top speakers. They also will have the opportunity to experience a new nonprofit grow and develop new programs.

 

Requirements

Social media experience with Twitter, FaceBook and LinkedIn

Experienced with Word, PowerPoint, and some level of Excel

Excellent writing skills

Critical thinking

Strong interpersonal skills

Ability to organize and meet deadlines

Interest in job search topics and non-profit programs

 

Majors

Human Resources, Communications, Ministry, Marketing, Business; others will be considered.

This is an unpaid internship.

Intern must be able to work 15-25 hours per week for 10- 12 weeks. Position may be continued on a reduced hour basis during the fall semester. Timing of work is flexible, but must be available for Monday morning meetings at Hill Country Bible Church Austin-Lakeline campus. May work a majority of the time from home.
